Clear vision is an essential part of our daily lives. Clear vision depends on how light rays are focused inside the eye. Normally, light is focused sharply on the retina, allowing the eye to see clearly at all distances. With refractive disorders, the eye’s shape is disproportionate, causing light to focus in front of or behind the retina. This refractive condition causes objects seen with the eye to appear blurry.
Refractive surgery is the term used to describe laser procedures that correct common vision problems to eliminate your dependence on prescription eyeglasses and/or contact lenses.
When people think of improving vision beyond glasses and contacts, they most often think of LASIK
ICL are micro thin lenses (similar to a contact lens) implanted over the natural lens inside the eye to correct spectacle power. The vision with an ICL is better than that of a contact lens because the lens is permanently inside the eye and is better able to correct cylindrical power along with spherical power.
The natural crystalline lens of the eye is replaced with a Monofocal, Multifocal or Toric Intra ocular lens (IOL) to achieve sharper vision, and is opted for young people with very high powers.
